This course is for beginning Latin students in middle school (6th-8th grade). Latin A and B is a two-year sequence that covers the same material as Latin 1. Therefore, middle school students who complete Latin A and B can continue on to Latin 2 in high school. We will commence the study of Wheelock’s Latin at a slower pace, putting careful emphasis on understanding both English and Latin grammar, and spending more time on drilling and memorization of Latin paradigms. Students will memorize approximately 300 vocabulary words and begin translation of simple Latin sentences. Open to students age 11 and up.
